Your own visits

Keep your own visits out of the numbers

Your own clicks on your own site are noise. Open one link in each browser you use, and Conseto stops measuring that browser, whatever IP address you have today.

What it does

  • The script drops every event from that browser: page views, clicks, forms, page exits, all of it.
  • The cookie banner is still shown, so you can check how it looks and works.
  • Any Google tag on the page gets the parameter traffic_type=internal. GA4 leaves that traffic out only after you switch on a data filter named Internal traffic in your GA4 property.

How it remembers

The flag is kept in the browser's local storage and in a cookie that lasts two years, for your site only. A new IP address does not matter. Clearing the browser's data removes it, and Safari removes it after a week without a visit to the site: open the link again.

Test tools and monitoring

Tools that open a clean browser every time (automated tests, uptime checks) remember nothing. Add ?cs_admin=1 to every address they open.

Excluding by IP address

In the project settings, under Excluded IP addresses, you can also list addresses (up to 50). The gateway accepts their events and does not store them, and the script mutes itself for them. It is an exact match, with no ranges, and home and mobile addresses change over time, so use the link as the main way and the list as the second.
